House of Praise Tabernacle was first established at the
Driftwood Community Centre in 2001, with a congregation of only
17 people. While at the community centre, God spoke to the
Sheppard, Pastor Devon A.O. Eccles and told him, Its time for a
change. The community centre could not accommodate the fast
growing church. They moved to a larger location on Keele Street
just south of Steeles; that seated a maximum of 70 people. The
first service at that new location was held on October 7th,
2001. God continued to work miracles by way of filling the
church week after week, leading Pastor Eccles yet again to step
out in faith.
On November 5, 2005, H.O.P moved to its current location, 264
Toryork Drive, where we are now able to seat over 300 people. In
nine years, we have definitely seen the work of the Lord; the
Lord has increased H.O.P members from 17 to over 200 current
members. H.O.P is not only growing in its membership; but
also as a church.
In November of 2008, Pastor and First Lady Eccles along with
few members went to Jamaica and launched House of Praise 2,
located in Saint Mary, which continues to grow week after week.
Also launched in early 2008, was Live Sundays where H.O.P
continues to be viewed worldwide by millions of people via the
internet. Each Sunday at 11:00 am viewers are able to experience
the glory of the Lord.
House of Praise continues to elevate to the next dimension. To
God be the Glory great and wonderful things He has done.
